The first issue of "The Skip" magazine was launched to an unsuspecting skip hire industry in June 05.
It was an idea I had on the loo one day to try and create a medium of information for this most important of industries (in terms of it's environmental impact); and because I kept getting asked by Topskips agents where they could get skip nets from or if I knew a good skip hire insurance company.
We had terrific fun putting the first issue together because we really didn't want to create the usual dull and boring trade magazine - we wanted to have a laugh as well, knowing that all the people in the skip hire industry we knew liked to have a laugh too. Besides, an article about the latest developments in haz regs is much more likely to be read if it's next to a scantily clad skip chick, isn't it? :-)
