Cory Environmental Ltd, one of the UK’s largest waste management companies, has chosen a ‘one stop’ package from Randalls Fabrications to fit a Simpak 1500 static waste compactor and containers for their new contract with a major printing company in Penryn, Cornwall.
The new equipment was purchased to replace a worn out compactor and was installed within 12 hours. The new Simpak 1500 was fitted to an existing air separator system and is on a five-year contract to Century Litho Ltd. of Penryn. The compactor is used for printed paper cut-offs which are shredded and blown into the hopper of the compactor by the air separator. Once the charge box is full, the auto-start is activated by a beam of light which, when broken, starts the compactor cycle. The pay load of the compactor is 6-8 tonnes and the compacted paper is sold for recycling.
The Simpak 1500 is one of a comprehensive range of Randalls compactors manufactured from premium grade materials. The charge box has a nominal capacity of 1.53 cubic metres and 7.5 kW motor drives up to a nominal 125 cubic metres an hour, at a compaction force of approximately 20,000 Kgf. Cycle time is 40 seconds.
